London, Ontario’s Jenn Marino & The Hearts play Rock and Roll for dancing souls. Stripped down to its core elements of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, Jenn Marino & The Hearts offers only pure energy, grit, and gumption with no filler. Their live shows are an explosion of sweat and stomping on the stage and in the crowd. All four members actively contribute to the band’s songwriting process, helping explain their eclectic Rock and Roll sound. If it rocks, the Hearts play it.

The band’s latest single “Smoke”, released June 3, 2020, is a testament to all things Rock & Roll past, present, and future. The original tune was conceived by Swan in his basement studio. Turek added his signature guitar stylings, simultaneously calculated and wild. Marino and Del Vecchio lead the charge on writing lyrics during a round table that saw input from all members. Swan refined his drumlines with a medical like precision that would cure even the hottest cowbell fever. Marino's vocals command attention from the listener.

After tireless hours of workshopping in the The Hearts band room, the band set off to Siegfied Meier’s (Face to Face, Kittie, The Salads) Beach Road Studios just north of Goderich, ON. Over the course of one mammoth twelve hour session, Sieg and the band curated a creative atmosphere that allowed for carefully shaped tones and truly refined production. The song was shipped off to Toronto’s Alfio Annibalini (The Arkells, Greta Van Fleet, Lights) for mixing before heading back to Meier’s for mastering.  Created by 331arts, a multimedia collective co-founded and operated by The Hearts bassist Michael Del Vecchio, the official music video uses vintage public domain video clips to create a visual journey that is as intense as the musical one.

Founding members Tyler Turek (guitar) and Michael Del Vecchio (bass) formed the band in 2012 while shirking their responsibilities as graduate students in the History Department at Western University. The band had humble beginnings at Western’s Grad Club, but quickly became a feature in the London, ON music scene.

Jenn Marino (vocals) joined the band in 2014 and infused the group with pure rock and roll energy. Marino, a natural performer, has been entertaining crowds with her music and acting skills since childhood. Renowned London drummer Mark Swan joined the band in 2019. Swan brings with him an impressive pedigree including winning the national Drumeo/Victoria Drum Fest Drum Solo Contest in 2016.

Now a staple in London, Jenn Marino & The Hearts regularly packs local venues for headlining shows. The band has also offered opening support to rock and roll greats Nazareth, Canadian hard rock legends Headstones and Finger Eleven, and Canadian punk rock queen Bif Naked, among many others. The band has performed several industry showcases including Canadian Music Week (2016, 2017, 2018), Indie Music Week (2016), and Junofest (2019).
